Klar and Klar Architects are thrilled to announce the completion of the master plan and architectural design for the lobby expansion of Ruth Eckerd Hall. The 35-year-old, 80,000 S.F. performing arts center now boasts a new entrance, lobby, and larger dress circle area. Awarded the commission in 2011, we addressed traffic congestion by adding two ingress and egress lanes and enhancing parking lot access. Our design features extensive landscaping, new signage, and graphics along the boulevard. Emulating the architectural language of FLW’s Cooley Playhouse and Johnson Wax Building, we integrated circular elements and decorative patterns throughout. The new lobby offers a covered gathering area, a circular valet drop-off, an outdoor plaza, and an inviting interior with cohesive design elements. Our work enhances the overall guest experience, making Ruth Eckerd Hall the premier performance venue in the Tampa Bay Area.
